Bio


Vanessa credits her parents and grandmother as her first “culinary teachers". Before the age of five, in her hometown of Mons, Belgium, it was their passion for food, passed along to her in the form of escargot, bratwurst, artisinal cheeses, and nutella that always brought a smile to her face.

After graduating from James Madison University in 1999, Vanessa went on to work in financial services before establishing herself in the marketing and advertising industry. In 2005, Vanessa pursued her true passion and enrolled at the French Culinary Institute in NYC. While attending FCI, Vanessa interned at the acclaimed Daniel restaurant where she worked under notable chef Daniel Boulud. Upon graduating top of her class, she began working as a private chef in NYC and shortly thereafter Vanessa launched Yum Yum Chefs, Inc.

Today, Vanessa can still be found in the kitchen where she develops new recipes and continues to prepare fresh, local and seasonal cuisine for her devoted clients. Her culinary skills combined with knack for design and presentation, ensure that her cuisine is perfectly portioned, uncomplicated with a focus on flavor. Yum Yum.
